I lost 1.6 lbs! YAHOO!
On better and happier news: I bought 2 new pairs of jeans this weekend, BOTH a size smaller! I keep telling myself "oh, they probably would have fit anyhow", but the fact of the matter is that I've lost 17.8 lbs. THAT'S ALMOST 20, and nothing to scoff at! :) I'm going to totally bust my booty to try to get those 2.2 pounds this week...20 in 12 weeks would be fan-freaking-tastic! :)
SO here it is: Weight Watchers works. If you do it, it works. If you kinda do it, it kinda works. If you don't do it...well, I bet you can figure it out! :P
Also, another friend was sitting by me today...so I have my own little WW posse! And someone I went to high school with and probably haven't seen in 14 years (oh lord...we shall never mention that number again) was there, and now I need to go through my yearbook and find her name! :)
So...I'm hoping by March 1, my next weigh in, I'll be 20 lbs lighter! But at the very least, I know by mid-March I'll be there, and I couldn't be happier!

The "last" five pounds
Although I have 40 pounds to go, I feel in a lot of ways like this next 5 pounds is really my big hurdle. I am 3 pounds away from the lowest I have ever gotten by myself. "By myself." HA! "By myself" means trying my own hit-or-miss diet and excersize program.
So I feel like if I can get through these next five pounds, then I will truly know WW is a way of life I can handle. It's not hard for me, so sometimes I'm skeptical that it's really working, and I couldn't have "by myself'd" this far without it. 15 pounds isn't anything to scoff at, but I'm not yet seeing a different in my body or clothes, so that is a little tough at times.
So onwards, I suppose! Life's a journey! :)

Back on track...kinda...
Week 9 reported a 2.3 loss...but this is the same amount of weight I gained last week (still baffled by that), so I'm really counting it as a maintain. My week 9 total is 14.4 pounds, and this week my goal is to get at least 3 good excersize days in.
It's definately a process. The food/lack of food don't bother me nearly as much...I pretty much eat what I want (in moderation), and honestly don't want ANYTHING more than I want to be thin. End of discussion. :)
I'm hoping I can see at least a pound next week, as I'm still a little shaken by my last weeks gain...I was on plan all week, and I just don't get it!
ANYHOW, Here's to a new week and greater successes! :)

**Shakes Fist in Air!!**
Sigh.
I gained 2.3 pounds. Let's just put that out there. I even waited to blog until morning, thinking maybe I'd have calmed down by this morning. Nope. Still pissed.
Here's the thing: I STAYED ON FREAKING PROGRAM. I haven't had a problem, because I've been seeing such great results that eating right and staying on track has been super easy. I love finding things that are tasty and fit into my new eating plan (new favorite: toasted sourdough english muffin with 2 light laughing cow cheese...YUM!) But this is CRAP! CRAP I TELL YOU!
Sigh.
I drink a ton of water every day, so I doubt it's water retention. It's not that time of the month (sorry boys), and I didn't work out a ton...just a little wii fit, and some house construction, of course.
Grrrrr.
SO, when my WW leader asked me what I could do different this week, I just glared at her with my most evil glare. I STAYED ON TRACK TIHS WEEK!!! And I'll do good next week.
But it still pisses me off.

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line....
Well, not so much the starting line now, but I thought it appropriate, as it's the start of my blog!
So here I am...31 (which seems so much worse than 30!), married to the love of my life, working, raising our six kids, building a new house, and trying to get through each day without losing much more sanity! (Because let's face it...there's not a whole lot left!) I wake at 5, rush out the door to work, head home, have an hour before our hour and a half pick-up route starts, then home for homework, dinner, a little tiny bit of downtime with the kids, clean-up, and bed! PHEW! Why am I not a size 2?!
Because I don't try. So six weeks ago, I joined Weight Watchers. I've been about 50 lbs overweight since the end of 2001. Some months its 40 pounds, some months it's 60. But now, I'm doing something about it. My friends B. and A. have joined as well, and how motivating that is! :)
In six weeks, I've lost 14.4 pounds. I'm TERRIFIED that all of a sudden I'm just going to stop losing, that it's going to stop working, and I'm going to be STUCK. I know there will be plateaus, and I know some weeks will be better than others. (Somehow last week I lost 4.6 lbs, and I have no freaking clue how that happened!) I am FINALLY (for the first time EVER) at the point where I don't want ANYTHING as much as I want to be thin, shop at Ann Taylor and the Gap, and feel good about myself again. Not Maple Men. Not Girl Scout Cookies. Not pizza. Ok...maybe Maple Men...but I can totally plan for that. :)
So the journey begins. It's one of those that there is no end...even when I'm where I want to be, it will take effort to stay there. But I know I can. And I will. :)
I'm going to try to Blog on Tuesday nights after WW meetings. I'm definately the most "raw" in those post-meeting moments. So thank you for following my journey...just your interest keeps me motivated on a whole different level. I am a lucky girl to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. :)
